The original photograph was taken by Karl Mackie, a Cornwall based photographer. He has an incredible ability to tell stories through the landscape he lives in. I am constantly drawn to the sea. Drawn by the inviting waves and cautioned by the ominous storm. I love the raw energy and wildness that nature delivers. I love feeling the energy through surfing. The open wave draws the surfer in to endlessly mind surf the empty wave. Charcoal is my preferred medium to express the natural rawness of the sea.

Paper
Hahnemühle German Etching · Hahnemühle Digital FineArt Collection
A traditional mould-made copperplate printing paper which lends a textured dimension to the print. The brightness of the paper allows for crisp colour reproduction, high contrast and optimum colour saturation. A lovely tactile feel with a velvety edge, reflective of heritage etching papers.
